Barrhead and Thornliebank Resource Centre, Summer Fayre Friday 30th June 2017
Barrhead and Thornliebank Resource Centre presented a cheque for £225.00 to the ERGoodCauses founder Russell Macmillan. The picture was taken at the Barrhead Resource Centre which is a council run day centre and community hub for adults with special needs living across East Renfrewshire. It works in combination with the Thornliebank Resource Centre and they have a joint committee of service users.
The Service Centre users committee had organised a fundraiser, held at the ARC.
The group also raised £225.00 for Alzheimers Scotland who received their cheque in the "joint presentation" event.
Russell commented: "It is so heartwarming to see such an enthusiastic group of adults, some with special needs, combining together to raise funds for others living in our own community. Showing that where there is a will, there is a way, and with a bit of a helping hand from the dedicated East Renfrewshire Council staff team, the fundraising event has been such a success, and I would like to personally thank the efforts of all those involved in raising this money, and setting such a fabulous example for others to follow".
